I live in Invermere, BC, Canada and was raised in Fairmont Hot Springs, BC. Growing up with my backdoor leading out into what seemed like endless nature, I developed a deep love for outdoor adventures and the wilderness. I feel the most present and at peace when I am immersed in the beautiful world that we are so fortunate to experience.

This love for nature lead me to pursue a natural form of therapy where all I needed was my two hands (and maybe an elbow here and there): Registered Massage Therapy. It was a fulfilling career that allowed me to help people alleviate pain and dysfunction in their body through manual therapy, as well as the self-care practices I taught them. My practice grew quickly in Invermere; I only needed to pay for advertising once when starting out, and the rest of my patients came through word of mouth. I was booked up to 3 months in advance, 30+ people on my waitlist, and constantly turning away new patients that I did not have the time to support. The gratitude I received over my 10 years of practice was heartwarming, and I feel so grateful to have made a difference in people’s lives in such a meaningful way.

Over the years, providing massage therapy became demanding on my physical and spiritual body. For over 3 years, I was living in a state of chronic stress, functioning on autopilot. I was drained from work, consumed by designing and building my third house, and completely neglecting my own well-being. I had low energy, I gained weight, and my personality changed. I became negative, irritable, and miserable, which put a huge strain on my relationship with my partner.

The catalyst for change was when my mom was diagnosed with cancer on New Year's Day in 2024. This news hit me like a brick wall and was a wake-up call I couldn't ignore. She believed that chronic stress played a major role in developing her illness. I took a hard look at my life and realized I was walking in her footsteps. I knew I had to make some drastic changes in my life, including closing my successful massage therapy business of 10 years. My mom inspired me to become a health coach and enroll in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s Health Coach Training Program. Becoming a health coach aligned so perfectly with my passion for holistic wellness that I felt in my soul it was my path forward.

What I learned in the health coaching program was absolutely life-changing. I gained the tools and strategies to manage stress, improve my physical and mental health, and adopt a lifestyle that not only helps prevent chronic disease but also enhances overall well-being. The transformation I experienced was incredible: I shed 10lbs, my energy returned, and I became my happy, positive self again! My relationship with my partner flourished, and we’re now engaged!

Through this journey, I've come to understand just how much power each individual has to heal their body and mind, transform their health, and change the trajectory of their longevity. If we take care of ourselves last, time will show us. With this career shift, I am excited to now help people improve their health and well-being in a different and more far-reaching way.

Self-care is self-love: love yourself!

P.S. In the near future, I will be writing a book for RMTs that includes the unique, effective treatment methods I personally developed over my 10 years of practice, as well as the muscle tension patterns I discovered. I will also be creating educational resources for RMTs, such as courses and training. This is a promise I am making to myself for my love of massage therapy, as well as to all my patients who were so sad to lose me as their RMT.
